Gemcare's Radience 2000 is by far the best precious metal cleaner and polish I have come across. I am the jeweler for a charity thrift store and we get a lot of silver and some gold jewelry as well. Most of it is tarnished and needs cleaning. This product makes most of the pieces shine like new. I also use it on some of the better costume jewelry. Definitely helps to sell our merchandise.

I really like this jewelry cleaner. My ring looks just like it did when we bought it.

This polish is great stuff. I first bought it at a home and flower show in Cleveland.

This is a great step by step book for making soldered jewelry. It gives a list of all the items you will need to purchase right up front. And is crammed full of great ideas and examples. After my first attempt, I realize it is a bit harder than it looks in the book, but perhaps it just takes more practice.

I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn to make soldered pendants and various bits of soldered jewelry. I have been teaching soldering for many years, and the one book that I always HIGHLY recommend for my students to buy, is Simple Soldered Jewelry. There are many books that have wonderful pictures, and great inspiration, but this book gives great detailed instructions, as well as various options for many of the techniques. So, if you want to learn to solder using copper tape, this is the perfect book!

Simple Soldered Jewelry & Accessories is a fantastic book. I bought it, unsure of what to expect. I wanted to get into soldering so much that I had already bought the equipment to do it - but fear was holding me back. After reading Bluhm's book, the fear disappeared...and was replaced by a sense of "I can do this!". It was a great feeling - and only achieved after reading the in-depth text Bluhm provides. The pictures are tight and provide explanations and examples that just can't be explained with words. If you are at all interested in soldering, GET THIS BOOK. It will pay for itself time and time again. I don't take classes due to the astronomical fees most of them charge, and the lengthy distance I would normally have to travel. I feel this book makes up for not attending a soldering class - there is enough good, solid information in this book that you will not only be able to solder after soaking it in, but you will be comfortable soldering. Yes, soldering takes practice (I'm learning), but it's a whole lot easier to do if you have knowledge on your side...and thankfully, Bluhm freely shares her knowledge in this book.

I really like this book. I have done some stained glass pieces but never attempted jewelry making. This gives a really good overview of all materials you will need, including good photos of all the various tools, pliers, foil tapes, etc. It gives basics for working with wire, all the basics of putting together and soldering a piece, finishing it out with patinas or embellishments. The book has some great and funky ideas on jewelry, but also everything from bobby pins, frames and ornaments to storage labels, scrapbooking ideas and bookmarks. Some great gift or sales ideas. A really good, basic book, and I'm going to have some fun with it!

This book is helpful to the beginner solderer, such as myself. I liked it a lot.

As as jewelry designer, I am continuously researching the history of design. In building a library of references I have been very selective in my acquisitions for inspiration and research. This book is a wonderful history of design with exceptional photographs and bibliography. The section at the back with biographical annotations of designers of note is as precious, for me, as the photos and text of the book. I highly recommend this one!

This book was recommended to me by my antique jewelry dealer. It is a treasure-trove of historical information with fabulous pictures and descriptions. Whether you are a collector or simply an admirer, you will not be disappointed in this well-researched book.

I approach this book purely as an artist seeking inspiration for my own jewelry designs, and for this I give A World of Earrings five stars. The photography is beautifully clear and sharp, offering precise detail under excellent lighting. The jewelry pieces are shown quite large, allowing you to see all the details. It is true that the descriptions are placed in the back of the book, and it might be a little inconvenient for some to flip back and forth between photos and descriptions, but I actually applaud this design decision because I prefer to see the jewelry itself without distracting blocks of text. As an artist, not a jewelry historian, I have to say this book fulfills all of my expectations and is well worth the price.

The book is beautifully illustrated with full color photos that are exceptional in quality. I think it would have been helpful to show how some of the earrings are actually worn, either on a mannequin head or a real person. One other feature I found inconvenient was the location of the descriptive text , which is clear at the back of the book, instead of under or in back of each illustration. The reader has to keep flipping back and forth between the full-sized photo in front and the text at the end. However, it still provides a good general survey of ethnic earrings from Africa, Asia and the Americas.

...as with the other volumes published thus far about the Ghysels collection (World of Rings, Splendor of Ethnic Jewelry), one is left thirsting for an accompanying volume of scholarship. Broad introductions to the regions represented and short captions relegated to the end of the book are what we're given instead, often without dates for the pieces shown. A gorgeous and inspiring visual resource- still one of my favorites on ethnic jewelry, for the sheer beauty of the pieces included- but a bit frustrating to the jewelry historian.
